You are an irregular spiral galaxy.<\/p>\n
Not just a plain-jane whirlpool of stars,<\/p>\n
some twirling showoff who spins fire from her arms,<\/p>\n
but an anomaly –<\/p>\n
a chaotic mess of dust and spiraling limbs.<\/p>\n
Like Shiva, you spin and dance through life,<\/p>\n
careening across the universe with wild abandon,<\/p>\n
the destroyer of worlds.<\/p>\n
Star systems arc from inside you like sparks,<\/p>\n
screaming as you push them away,<\/p>\n
Why? Where did it go wrong? You worked so well together.<\/p>\n
Yet still, nebulae swirl around your periphery,<\/p>\n
always eager to get inside,<\/p>\n
past your filaments and clouds –<\/p>\n
those grey shrouds, lit up like thunderheads,<\/p>\n
hinting at dark secrets within, and something else.<\/p>\n
Some cream and azure illumination,<\/p>\n
clutch and hugged to your core,<\/p>\n
where new worlds are born like careless ideas<\/p>\n
and planets are flung into the void,<\/p>\n
still warm from the nurturing furnace of your imagination.<\/p>\n
There is a force that strings all this together –<\/p>\n
there must to be – there has to be<\/p>\n
some explanation,<\/p>\n
more than just gravity,<\/p>\n
more than mere momentum.<\/p>\n
Like spider-threads invisible in the night,<\/p>\n
this dark lace holds your arms aloft as you spin,<\/p>\n
clutches the globular nebulae close to your core.<\/p>\n
It bring a fiercer, burning energy to your belly button,<\/p>\n
that hub where new stars burn forth,<\/p>\n
and we can\u2019t help looking,<\/p>\n
scanning your whirling form,<\/p>\n
peering with out telescopes outside your window<\/p>\n
wondering.<\/p>\n
Yes, I\u2019m sure,<\/p>\n
there *is* a dark force that holds all this together,<\/p>\n
but no one knows what it is, it\u2019s true.<\/p>\n
The philosophers are baffled,<\/p>\n
their whispers barely concealed.<\/p>\n
You hide your secrets well,<\/p>\n
away from the wide-eyed telescopes,<\/p>\n
away from me,<\/p>\n
but I can\u2019t stop thinking about you.<\/p>\n
